Band Saw Operator
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Band Saw Operator to join our team. This role involves cutting, shaping, assembling, and finishing metal components based on blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with fabrication tools and machinery and a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Measure, cut, and shape metal materials using tools such as saws, shears, and plasma cutters
- Weld and assemble metal components using MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding techniques
- Operate fabrication machinery including press brakes, rollers, and CNC equipment
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication or a related field
- Proficiency in welding (MIG/TIG preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Knowledge of shop safety practices and procedures
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CNC machinery
- Familiarity with stainless steel, aluminum, and structural steel fabrication
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
